My name is Pauljude. I have loved the art of Chinese Calligraphy since I was a teenager. In my Senior High School I ranked third in both 1975 and 1976 in The Chinese Calligraphy Competition of my College.
From 1982 to 1985 I gained First Place for four consecutive years when I competed in the Chinese Calligraphy Competition for Overseas Chinese Students at the National Taiwan Normal University. Also in 1982 my Chinese Calligraphy Professor, Mr Jian, organised a special Calligraphy activity from a group of universities in Taipei. Out of one hundred art works chosen for the exhibition my work was placed sixteenth.
In 1992, whilst teaching at the Lin Kou Public Junior High School as a Chinese Literature/Mandarin/Calligraphy teacher, I was chosen to represent the teachers at the school in a Calligraphy Competition for amongst all Public Junior High Schools in the Hsinchuang District of Taipei County in Taiwan. I gained fifth place in this competition.
Absolutely, I don't think my Chinese Calligraphy is good enough and I am sure there is plenty of room to improve it; I still love doing it and would like to share some of my art works with everyone.
I produce art works on paper/canvas and mount them with mats in standard size so they fit the standard sized photo frames which are readily available or I can produce to your choice of size. I also do calligraphy on bamboo, timber or paper fan, and I can make my calligraphy according to your requests such as proverbs, Bible verses and even your name in Chinese.
Now, I am working as a Picture Framer. As part of the production team, I am predominately responsible for the customer framing including sports memorabilia, stretching of textiles etc. Cutting of mats, mounting of prints or photographs, x-stitch, canvas stretching, and doing jersey are also a part of my daily main jobs. Especially the Rugby Jersey, canvas stretching and X-stitch are my specialty.
I hope you will like it and give me some encouragement. Thank you.
